Who are we?

We are a network of educational researchers with a shared interest in the use of research to improve education in South Carolina. Members of SCEPUR represent diverse backgrounds from both K-12 education and higher education.

What is our mission?

SCEPUR shall be a non-profit organization whose purpose is that of improving education and educational practices in South Carolina through the application and dissemination of findings in educational research, evaluation, and practice. The organization shall serve as a forum for networking and collaboration between university scholars, educational practitioners, graduate students, and policymakers in South Carolina.  

What are our goals?

In order to accomplish our mission, SCEPUR has adopted the following strategic goals:
  • Promote and support the integration of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Promote and support the implementation of appropriate assessment, evaluation, and research procedures.
  • Facilitate communication among educators regarding issues related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Promote networking among all educators.
  • Provide a forum for sharing original research and evaluation findings.
  • Disseminate information regarding current educational issues and trends.
